I have a lot of respect for surfing, but what the faceshot crew was pulling of at the beach was more like general touristing, which was fun. The beach was so crowded for the holiday most the locals weren't out in the water, so being a kook out there wasn't a big deal. Surfing is really hard to do, especially when you have pale, not used to paddling out arms. Nevertheless, every day was spent with multiple sessions out by Huntington Pier. We were happy just to get up and ride the foam. Skimboarding was also really fun, and a really efficient way to pack your ears with sand as I foud out. There was also plenty of people watching to do between the beach, the peir, and the main street. Main has to be setting some kind of record for the most surfshops in one square mile. It way crazy.
